Meet the artist and founder of ...Beginning with Bears

Katherine Gale has lived in Penrith in the Lake District since 2005 having moved from Lincolnshire.

Her childhood was spent in Middlesex with Gran's Bear (Teddy).

Katherine enjoys working with oils, painting landscapes and still life.

More recently she has worked with pencil, producing fine drawings of her treasured collection of bears and also bird and animal studies.

Katherine's drawing of Gran's Bear (Teddy) as a birthday card for her elder granddaughter's first birthday was the starting point for the business.

...Beginning With Bears is a family run business retailing the cards and stationery resulting from the original artwork.

We supply galleries, craft outlets, farm shops, tea rooms and High Street retailers as well as to individual customers.

Katherine is a member of Made in Cumbria.
